FIREARM SAFETY
Always Follow the 4 Rules of Gun Safety
MEMBERS
If you go in front of the shooting booths to shoot and there are other shooters on the range please follow all club safety rules.
Either all shooters shoot from the booths or all must shoot from a mutually agreed upon firing line.
When shooting at the far end of the range you must stay behind the red line when shooting.
All targets must be placed at eye level for the shooting stance at which you will be shooting. If your target is not at eye level whether standing or sitting you are either shooting the ceiling or floor. Rounds must go straight into the bullet trap. Shooting the floor or walls or ceiling will cause ricochet which may hit you or others. So keep all targets at eye level. When using different target holders it's on you to properly position the target.
The main electric target holder is set at the 7 yard range and is to be operated only by the
Club Range Safety Officer (RSO).
If you want to shoot your target at other distances then use a metal target stand holder that is stored hanging on the left side range wall. They require 2 each 2" x 2" x 6 ft. wood supports There are also other target holders by the lockers for 2" x 1" x 6 ft. wood supports.
Bring your own wood supports available at lumber yards and large /long cardboard to attach your target to.
Remember to dispose of your targets and cardboard. Put trash in the large bin by the range basement door. If the bin is full and you have time please burn in the burn pit.
Take your 2 x 2's or 2 x 1's home and sweep up your brass and range floor.
Targets need to be hung low enough so no one is shooting the ceiling.
